Clinical Supervision & Professional Mentorship

Pamela is a Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor in both Missouri and Kansas, offering supervision for graduate counseling interns, provisionally licensed clinicians, and therapists seeking advanced clinical consultation. Whether you are completing practicum or internship, working toward independent licensure, or pursuing continued professional growth, Pamela provides a supportive, collaborative supervision experience tailored to your stage of development. For clinicians in the Kansas City metropolitan area, she also offers dual-state supervision for those pursuing licensure in both Missouri and Kansas, helping supervisees navigate each state's requirements while developing into confident, ethical, and competent clinicians.

In addition to individual supervision, Pamela offers biweekly dyadic and small-group post-graduate supervision. These groups provide a more affordable supervision option while cultivating a collaborative learning environment where clinicians can learn from one another, normalize the challenges of clinical work, and benefit from the collective wisdom of the group. Pamela believes that meaningful professional growth often happens in community, where curiosity, authenticity, and mutual support create space for deeper learning.

Pamela provides supervision through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) and trauma-informed lens, approaching both clients and supervisees from a compassionate, non-pathologizing perspective. As an IFS Level 3-trained therapist, she helps supervisees deepen their understanding of parts work—not only in their clients but also within themselves. Rather than focusing on pathology, supervision invites curiosity about each client's internal system—exploring which parts are present, the protective roles they have taken on, what burdens they carry, and how the therapist can bring greater Self-energy to help facilitate healing. This same compassionate curiosity extends to the therapist's own internal system, recognizing that our own parts inevitably enter the therapy room and can become valuable opportunities for growth. As clinicians cultivate greater Self-energy, they are better able to create the safety, presence, and attunement that foster healing in the therapy room.

Supervision emphasizes holistic case conceptualization through a biopsychosocial-spiritual framework, integrating an understanding of the nervous system through Polyvagal Theory alongside evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs. Pamela enjoys helping supervisees strengthen their clinical reasoning, increase confidence, and thoughtfully integrate multiple therapeutic modalities while remaining grounded in the therapeutic relationship.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, Pamela enjoys supporting clinicians pursuing EMDR training or certification by helping them strengthen case conceptualization, treatment planning, and the integration of EMDR with attachment-focused, somatic, and parts-oriented approaches. Supervision also incorporates nervous system regulation and strategies for working with complex trauma and dissociation.

Pamela is also a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist and enjoys mentoring clinicians who work with children, adolescents, and families. She helps supervisees develop confidence in using play as a therapeutic language, understand children's behaviors through a nervous system and attachment lens, and integrate developmentally appropriate interventions into their work.

With an undergraduate background in theology and extensive experience integrating faith and mental health, Pamela enjoys supervising clinicians who desire both strong clinical training and ethical Christian faith integration. For clinicians who share a Christian worldview, supervision provides a safe and supportive space to thoughtfully explore how their faith informs their identity as a therapist and how to ethically integrate spiritual interventions into clinical practice when appropriate. Pamela values creating an environment where supervisees can openly discuss questions of faith, theology, and clinical decision-making without feeling the need to compartmentalize these important aspects of who they are. She also has extensive experience treating clients who are deconstructing their faith or recovering from religious trauma and supports supervisees in navigating these often complex and deeply meaningful conversations with humility, compassion, and clinical excellence. Pamela believes that a clinician's faith, like every important aspect of identity, can be integrated thoughtfully and ethically into therapeutic work while always honoring the client's values, autonomy, and goals.

Pamela is also passionate about supporting neurodivergent clinicians, particularly those with ADHD. As a fellow ADHD therapist, she understands many of the unique strengths and challenges that can accompany clinical work, including executive functioning demands, perfectionism, rejection sensitivity, masking, burnout, and navigating systems that are not always designed for neurodivergent minds. Supervision provides a space to build on these strengths while collaboratively developing practical strategies that help clinicians thrive authentically, sustainably, and with greater confidence.

For therapists with entrepreneurial goals, supervision can also include the business side of private practice. As a business owner for over 25 years, Pamela enjoys mentoring clinicians who hope to build or grow their own practices. Whether supervisees are working within Pamela's group practice or receiving external supervision, consultation can include topics such as developing a niche, branding, marketing, financial management, tax preparation, business planning, hiring, and the practical aspects of creating a sustainable and fulfilling private practice.

Pamela believes that exceptional therapists never stop learning. She is passionate about helping clinicians cultivate not only competence but also curiosity, humility, and a commitment to lifelong professional growth. Supervision is viewed as a collaborative learning process that extends beyond meeting licensure requirements. Whether exploring emerging research, refining clinical skills, integrating new modalities, or developing greater self-awareness as a therapist, Pamela encourages supervisees to continually invest in their growth so they can provide the highest quality care to the clients they serve.

Supervisees Who May Be a Good Fit

Pamela particularly enjoys working with clinicians who:

  • Are lifelong learners who value ongoing professional development and are excited to continually deepen their knowledge, refine their clinical skills, and pursue advanced training throughout their careers.

  • Want to integrate IFS, trauma-informed care, Polyvagal Theory, nervous system regulation, and evidence-based practice into their clinical work.

  • Desire consultation from an IFS Level 3-trained therapist to deepen their understanding of parts work.

  • Are pursuing EMDR certification or want support integrating EMDR with complex trauma, attachment, dissociation, and somatic approaches.

  • Work with or hope to specialize in children, adolescents, and families, and would benefit from supervision with a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist.

  • Value a non-pathologizing, strengths-based approach to therapy.

  • Desire supervision that attends not only to case conceptualization but also to the therapist's own internal process and professional growth.

  • Work with trauma, complex PTSD, dissociation, attachment wounds, or religious trauma.

  • Want to ethically integrate Christian faith into counseling or feel more equipped to work with clients exploring spirituality, faith deconstruction, or church hurt.

  • Are neurodivergent clinicians, particularly those with ADHD, seeking supervision that recognizes both the unique strengths and challenges of practicing as a neurodivergent therapist.

  • Are interested in building a thriving and sustainable private practice while developing as both a clinician and business owner.

Pamela believes that the most effective therapists remain students throughout their careers, continually growing in both clinical expertise and personal Self-leadership. Whether you are beginning your professional journey or seeking to deepen your clinical skills, supervision can be a place not only to earn licensure but to become the kind of therapist you aspire to be.
